BSU Hosts Meeting on Priorities Outlined at New Azerbaijan Party Congress

Baku State University (BSU) hosted a meeting organised by the Executive Authority of Yasamal District to discuss the priorities arising from Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s address at the 8th Congress of the New Azerbaijan Party (YAP).

Speaking at the meeting, Elshad Hasanov, Head of the Yasamal District Executive Authority, highlighted the country’s strategic objectives, the importance of strengthening national independence and security, and the role of educational and public awareness initiatives in promoting statehood and patriotism.

BSU Rector Elchin Babayev emphasised the role of higher education institutions in safeguarding national and ideological security. He noted that universities should align their educational and awareness-raising activities with the country’s strategic priorities, using digital and innovative approaches to engage young people and strengthen their understanding of Azerbaijani statehood and national heritage.

The meeting also featured contributions from representatives of academia, education, healthcare, public organisations, war veterans, and students, who discussed the importance of cooperation in implementing the priorities outlined at the congress.
