Baku State University (BSU) hosted a scientific seminar titled “Writing Review Articles and Their Importance for Doctoral Students”.
The seminar featured Mustafa Muradov, Deputy Director of BSU's Centre of Excellence for Research, Development and Innovation.
His presentation covered the nature and role of review articles in academic research, their differences from original research papers, and the key stages involved in preparing them. Particular attention was given to selecting an appropriate topic, systematically reviewing academic literature, identifying reliable sources, and comparing and synthesising research findings.
The seminar also highlighted the importance of review articles in establishing the academic foundation for doctoral research, defining research problems and identifying research gaps and potential contributions. Participants also discussed the use of international academic databases, proper citation practices and adherence to the principles of academic integrity.
The seminar concluded with a discussion session, during which participants raised questions and received answers.
